Since I have incorporated Capto into my putting lessons, my students have reduced their handicaps and I have gained a client base to over 30 full time golfers including professionals and, national and county players, with that I am now offering my teaching expertise to all.
PUTTING POINTERS WITH MARCUS RADMORE
Its ultimately line and length, see below some of the factors that influence a good or bad putt
- Aim: Arguably the most important element and never over looked. Did you know on a flat putt of 8 foot and perfect stroke, if your clubface is 0.6 degrees aiming wrong you will miss the putt
- Short: If the putt doesn’t get to the hole it won’t go in, distance control is vital. Have you ever heard the saying “never up, Never in”? is this you?
- Face angle: Control of the clubface whether right of target, left of target or low of loft or increase of loft will have an affect on how the ball rolls
- Tempo: Underestimated element of putting, I recently improved a whole group of national players by training to have the same Tempo for an 8 foot putt as a 25 foot putt. How? Book in and I will show you how this improves your chance of holing putts
- Putts Per Round: The top 25% of under 16 England Golfers average 29.80 outs per round. and the average for their age group hole 31.14 (stats based on golf data lab 2013-16) you can improve your strokes per round and lower your handicap without the swing changes
- Skill Acquisition: Putting is a skill learnt like all others and hardly anyone dedicates lesson time to learning this skill. Thats where I come in, I will help with the technology to help you learn new skills as a dedicated putting specialist
- Impact: Control of putter face and where it contacts the face can greatly improve roll and speed from clubface. A ball struck off centre can also deflect the club face and start the ball on the wrong line.
- Patience: Going back to my first point, Line & Length. Choose your start line and commit to it, concentrate on the pace you hit the ball on and stay patient. With so many variables not all putts can go in, but stay patient and stay away from the temptation to force a putt in the hole.
- Routine: Justin Rose.. Flawless routine, Mark the ball, use Aimpoint, Place shirt under left arm pit for connection, Line the face up to the start line chosen, Claw Grip goes on, Pull the trigger. Try and find your routine or I will help you
